WAVE TABLE was born in June 2024 over a couple of beers with my childhood friend, Miles Berry. The idea was simple: streaming platforms don’t pay musicians fairly—Spotify pays around \$0.003 per stream, and Apple Music only slightly more at \$0.01.
Our solution? A prediction market for musicians. Users could place bets on whether an artist’s growth would outpace their peers. If their prediction was right, they earned a profit. If not, the artist still got paid. A typical example: “Will Alex G’s listener growth outperform 75% of similar musicians over \[X] period?”
That night, we sketched out the initial concept and a basic equation. We never expected it to go anywhere—but after successfully pitched at the University of California Davis startup center, We secured essential early-stage investor support. That momentum allowed us to Build a robust technical infrastructure comprising over 20,000 lines of code within just a few months. During this time we initiated strategic partnership discussions with Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud. In February 2025, we evaluated and accepted an acquisition offer.
As Co-Founder and Head of Design, I led our visual branding and front-end strategy and guided backend infrastructure development. I oversaw the creation of our predictive database and shaped the digital identity, leading a talented development team primarily recruited from Columbia University. My role combined technical skill and creative vision to deliver a cohesive and engaging user experience.
